The Bible Beats the Quran America Will Beat Iran, but…

God says there is none like Him, declaring the end from the beginning. In Genesis 22, God shows the end of militant Islam when Isaac was saved from sacrifice by a ram caught by its horns in a bush. The Quran says Ishmael was spared by sacrificing the ram. Which is right?

When Christ was asked about the end of the world in Matthew 24, he recommended we understand a desolating power first mentioned in Daniel 8. Here is a prophecy that reaches from the time of Daniel to the present and includes a ram that gets stomped and its horns are broken by a goat. Daniel 8:20,21 tells us the horns on the ram are the kings of Media and Persia and they are broken by the first king of Grecia (Alexander the Great).

But Gabriel said the vision is “at the time of the end,” (verse 17) so what we’re looking at is a double application of prophecy—once in history, and again for our time when the Medes and Persians have become Iraq and Iran. If we read closely, several items fit better now:

U.S. coalition v Iraq and Iran is Bible prophecy

  • Daniel was in the palace at Shushan, but "I saw in a vision and I was by the river Ulai," Daniel 8:2. The modern name is the Karun River by Kuwait where U.S. troops deployed against Iraq in 2003.
  • Alexander’s victory at Arbela was 700 miles away. Daniel saw our time and our deployment.
  • The goat “came from the west on the face of the whole earth,” Daniel 8:5. The U.S. coalition came from Korea, Australia, S. America, Canada, Europe“the whole earth.” Not so with Alexander; he did come "from the face of the whole earth.
  • The goat “touched not the ground.” Daniel 8:5. Desert Storm was the first war fought largely in the air. Alexander had no choice of planes. The imagery fits "the time of the end." Alexander's victory was a type for our time
  • Persia was the name for Iran today. Daniel 8 suggests war with Iran soon..

Grecia is named in Daniel 8:21, but Grecia was “the west.” Its government was more democratic, and its education emphasized the mind and reason more than manual skills and apprenticeship. So we are like Grecia.  Grecia wasn't just the country of Greece as it is today. Some troops from Bosnia (part of ancient Grecia) went to Iraq in 2003. So yes, the goat could be said to come from Grecia, Ancient Grecia also included Cyprus where U.S. ships were stationed that participated in the war with Iraq.

Animals fight with horns. The breaking of the ram’s horns suggests the end of militancy by the ram (Islam). Islam understandably hates us as a great Satan for the tobacco, alcohol, drugs, rock music, immodest dress and immoral movies. In Scripture, the ram is more noble than a goat, but it is sacrificed to save Isaac (Israel).

Further support for this is also found in the Bible.
Abraham, the father of Jews, Muslims and Christians, was tested over his willingness to sacrifice his son. At the last second, God spoke to release him from the test, as Abraham saw “a ram caught in a bush by his horns.” Genesis 22:13.

The ram was caught by its horns (militancy) in a bush. President Bush fulfilled this imagery. This is not saying that the war is good, but it is taking care of a "pushy" ram (militant Islam).

Islam sacrifices a ram to celebrate this in Al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice, but the Quran, Surat, Al-Saffat (37: 99-111), teaches that the son spared by the ram was Ishmael. The Bible says it was Isaac.

Which is the true Holy Book? Events in the Middle East will show if Isaac (Israel) is spared by sacrificing a ram (Islam) or if Ishmael was the son spared by a sacrifice of a ram (Isaac?)

"The day of the LORD comes, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations [Arab nations?] against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished...Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations." Zech 14:1-3

But God’s foreknowledge of military victory is not a statement about the rightness of the US. The ram is a more noble creature than a goat and Christ will separate sheep from goats as shown in Matthew 25:33. We should understand Islam’s (ram) concern that the US has been much like the “great Satan.” Have we not brought tobacco, alcohol, drugs, Hollywood’s immorality, perversion and rock music to pollute their land and their younger generation?

After a military victory, the US’ “horn” gets broken, Daniel 8:8.  Please consider further information at

The Coming War With Iran
Real question is not if, but when
By: Jeffrey T. Kuhner / The Washington Times.com / September 09, 2009

"War with Iran is now inevitable. The only question is: Will it happen sooner or later?  Tehran's recent missile tests and war games suggest that the apocalyptic mullahs have reached the same conclusion.

"Iran is on the march.   It has backed insurgency groups in Iraq, which have killed U.S. soldiers.  It sponsors Hamas and Hezbollah.  It has transformed Syria into a political vassal.  It has forged an alliance with Hugo Chavez's Venezuela.  It has purchased key air defense systems from Vladimir Putin's Russia.

"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a Holocaust-denier and virulent anti-Semite.  He is a Persian Nazi strongman who vows to wipe Israel 'off the map.' He is a revolutionary Shi'ite. He believes the Jews must be extinguished in order to usher the coming of the Shi'ite Messiah, the so-called 'Hidden Imam.'"

The Bible even shows the "when"

"And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, " 2 Samuel 11:1.

If we recall, the war against Iraq also began in the spring. Watch for Zecharian 14:1-3 to occur toward the end of May for 2nd Passover as some clues suggest.
